Bright Eyes Trend

Make-up artists are having a spring love affair with bright colours, with many a catwalk sporting fresh vibrant colours around the eye. With natural cosmetics experiencing an explosion of colour, we too can translate this beauty trend, without the synthetic chemicals to recreate an equally desirable look.

We are experiencing our own love affair with Bella Pierre Cosmetics as their rainbow of colours is magical... and give effective make up cover. Their extensive range of 60 shimmer colours are the ultimate all-in-one mineral make-up product. That's because their gorgeous pots of shimmer powder are multi-functional. You can apply the powder direct to your skin, or you can simply mix with a drop of water or blend with another product, e.g. a lip balm, to become "an eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, lipstick, bronzer, nail polish (mix with your favourite colour with clear nail polish or top coat) or whatever you want it to be!" We've been trialling this 100% hypoallergenic product for nearly a year now, and it gets the big thumbs up from us. Visit Bella Pierre to learn more.

Another good brand to look to for soft spring colours is Organic Glam, the cosmetic arm of The Organic Pharmacy, a company we trust wholeheartedly. Oh so seasonal, their spring mineral eye colours offer ice blue, pale lavender, ice mint and pale pink. With its bang on trend colours and stylish packaging, making the switch to organic and mineral make-up has never been easier.

Colourful mascaras made from natural, organic ingredients though is slightly harder. We recommend either taking the Bella Pierre approach - clever when you consider you could have any colour you want - or why not opt for Nvey Eco's stunning blue mascara. Certified organic and rich in vitamin B5, nettle and horsetail herb, this natural blend will strengthen, condition and build your lashes for a full thicker look.

SOFT GOTH GLAMOUR

It isn't just Jeff Garner of Prophetik boasting dark, goth eyes at London Fashion Week. Noir's catwalk models all sported a dark, gothic look with black glam eyes. Yet this trend doesn't hark back to the goth look of the '90's. The Noughties brand of goth is a sweeping palette of black or shimmering grey eyes, a clean black eye line, bronze chiselled cheeks and a matt nude pout.

BOLD, COLOURFUL EYES

Feeling blue? Need a wake-up call? No fear. While we love a natural, nude look, a big trend this season, it can be rather sombre, reflecting the ghastly economic climate. Some even argue the naked look has even be caused by it. So that's why we've given a big cheer to those designers opting to buck the trend, where eyes have taken centre stage as big, bold and beautiful. The Gucci girls, pictured left in electric blue, Gareth Pugh and Galliano have led the way with their catwalk paint boxes and have painted a bright rainbow indeed.
