Since the time of the ancient Egyptians, the jasmine flower has been one of the most favoured ingredients used in the creation of perfume.

Jasmine is believed to have originated in Southeast Asia or possibly in western China and was popularised by the Arabs and Persians, who had easy access to the plant and could grow it close to their home quarters. Napoleon himself was said to use 60 bottles of jasmine extract a month – now that is one serious obsession! Today, jasmine is still commonly used, particularly as a heart note and is still considered one of the most popular ingredients in modern perfumes. Here’s proof!
